Round1 Mall Entrance Concept Renderings
For this rendering exercise, I was provided with low-quality, poorly angled existing photos of a mall space and asked to develop exterior design concepts, along with proposals for two interior mall entrances leading into Round1. Round1 is a family entertainment center known for its bold colors, dynamic lighting, and playfulness that are designed to attract attention and draw customers in, while still complying with mall design restrictions. After reviewing the images and speaking with the mall manager to better understand the limitations and expectations, I began conceptualizing design directions that balanced vibrancy with feasibility.
Although the initial request was to build the space in SketchUp, I quickly recognized that modeling the entire area would be inefficient given the scope of the task. Instead, I strategically created straight on elevations from the provided images and developed the concepts entirely in Photoshop. This approach allowed for high-quality, clean renderings and enabled quick revisions based on client feedback. I presented two distinct design options—one bold and highly colorful, and another more toned down yet still engaging. The client ultimately selected the more vibrant concept, requesting only a minor adjustment to the placement of a bowling pin feature element. The presentation was very well received, and this project demonstrated my ability to produce impactful, client-ready renderings efficiently without the need for full 3D modeling, leading to additional opportunities to complete similar exercises in the future.
